Tiger is returning the National Capital Region. The world's most celebrated golfer joins 120 PGA TOUR professionals, including Anthony Kim, Jim Furyk, Vijay Singh and Ernie Els, at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland to complete in the 2009 AT&T National. The AT&T National benefits the Tiger Woods Foundation and various youth programs in the area while paying tribute to the many courageous men and women serving in our Armed Forces. Do you love a good book?? Please join our DC-metro area Hokies for a discussion on the July book of the month "The Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follett. The book club meetings take place on the 2nd Thursday of each month, at 6:30 p.m. Currently being held at Bertucci's in Clarendon this location is a few blocks from the Clarendon Metro near Barnes and Nobles. Come out and enjoy the company of your fellow Hokies and help send the Class of 2013 off to Blacksburg in style at beautiful Lake Fairfax! The picnic will feature hamburgers, hot dogs, vegetarian options, drinks and delicious desserts provided by Cakes By Megan! There will be fun and games as well as plenty of DC Hokie items. The park features boating, fishing, trails, and a carousel and the Water Mine Family Swimmin' Hole conveniently located near the picnic area. FORE! Golfers of all skill level are invited to join the DC Hokie Alumni Association for our annual HokieOpen Golf Tournament. This year’s event will take place at the premiere 18-hole course at Evergreen Country Club in Haymarket, VA. Evergreen offers a challenging, highly acclaimed Algie Pulley layout, which features water on 6 of the 18 holes, dramatic elevation changes, excellent course conditions, and 7,096 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. Registration opens up for the first 144 people. The $150 tournament fee includes practice time, golf cart, lunch, drinks on the course, a buffet dinner and more! Prizes and awards will be given away to our winners and a portion of the proceeds will go towards scholarships for students in the National Capital Region area.
